From the name you realise that Japonisme is influenced highly by japan and its culture. A big part that started it all was from wood block prints. This was the inspiration of most European painters. this then evolved into Art Nouvaue and also in cubism. this art unfortunately had flat colours , a bad lack of perspective, no shadows and strong colours.
